Note: This calendar reflects state law as it exists prior to the end of 2017 legislative session. This calendar will be updated in June 2017, if necessary, to reflect any changes made by the state legislature.

First day to file for a place on the Primary ballot for precinct chair candidates.	Tuesday, September 12, 2017
First day to file for all other candidates for offices that are regularly scheduled to be on the Primary ballot.	Saturday, November 11, 2017
Filing deadline for candidates; filing deadline for independent candidates to file declaration of intent.	Monday, December 11, 2017 at 6:00 PM
First day to apply for a ballot by mail using Application for a Ballot by Mail (ABBM) or Federal Postcard Application (FPCA).	Monday, January 1, 2018* *First day to file does not move because of New Year’s Day holiday. An “Annual ABBM” or FPCA for a January or February 2018 election may be filed earlier, but not earlier than the 60th day before the date of the January or February election.
Last Day to Register to Vote	Monday, February 5, 2018* *Actual deadline falls on Sunday but moves to the next business day.

LOST PINES REPUBLICAN WOMEN CHARTERED BY TFRW

The Lost Pines Republican Women (LPRW) organization was officially chartered in January 2017 by the Texas Federation of Republican Women (TFRW) and the National Federation of Republican Women (NFRW).  LPRW membership is open to Republican women in Bastrop County and surrounding areas.  Women who are members of another NFRW-affiliated club, or men, can join as associate members. More information is available on the web at LostPinesRW.org.

“Our membership has nearly doubled since receiving our charter in January.  We’ve held three events and have our fourth, a casual meet-up, coming up on August 12 in Smithville”, said President Carol Spencer. “If you’re a Republican woman, want to meet like-minded individuals and have fun growing our presence in Bastrop County, I encourage you to join us”, she added.

The objectives of LPRW are:

• To work for the election of the Republican Party's nominees.
• To promote an informed electorate through political education.
• To increase the effectiveness of women in the cause of good government through active political participation.
• To support the election or appointment of Republican women to public office and to provide support to Republican women office holders.
• To facilitate cooperation among local Republican Women's clubs, the Texas Federation of Republican Women (TFRW) and the National Federation of Republican Women (NFRW).
• To foster loyalty to the Republican Party and to promote its principles and candidates in all elections including non-partisan elections.

BCRP Office Hours

Bastrop County Republican Party has an office open to the public on Main St.  It is located at 1007 Main St., Suite D in Bastrop (the Sanborn Building).

Unless otherwise posted the party's FaceBook page, the office hours are as follows:

Mon - Thur, 11 am to 2 pm
Friday, 10 am to noon
Saturday, 10 am to 2 pm

July BCRP Meeting in Smithville

On Monday, July 24, at 7:00 p.m., Bastrop County Republican Party will hold its monthly meeting at First National Bank in Smithville.  The guest speaker will be Clara Beckett, Bastrop County Commissioner for Precinct Two.  Light refreshments will be served.
